Flights The airport of Caracas, Maiquetia, is linked to principal European cities by the airlines Alitalia, Air France, British Airways, Iberia, KLM and Luftansa. To reach Los Roques one needs to take a domestic flight from either Caracas or Margarita ( airport of Porlamar). Aerotuy and Transaven are the Venezuelan airlines that fly to Los Roques, or alternatively one can hire 6-seater private planes. The airport at Gran Roque does not have lighting, so planes cannot land during hours of darkness. If your plane arrives after 14.30 it is necessary to spend the first night in Caracas (or near the airport). Only with private plane you can have some more chance to reach Los Roques the same day.
